Biography
Carl was born about 1745. He was the son of Rasmus Svensson. He was a sailor (så kallad coopvardiebåtsman,matros, kofferdibåtman) and strandsittare (English description of the "land" equivalent to strandsittare, "backstugusittare", there was no English translation of strandsittare)[1]. The translation is literary beach sitter och person sitting on beach, which would give you an understanding of the financial situation of a strandsittare.
He passed away in 1793 from Tuberculosis (Lungsot) [2] [3] almost 34 years old according to the documents, which puts his birth about 1759.
