JEAN BAPTISTE RAPIDIEU dit LAMER Status : Immigrant

Birth : 1667-08-20 lezignac-sur-goire, ev. angouleme, angoumois (ar. Saint-Maurice-des-Lions , charente)[1][2]

His marriage states he was soldat de la compagnie de la Mothe, so he arrived as a soldier in a marine detachment, La Mothe company.[3]

Jean Baptiste Rapidieu Lamer was born on August 20, 1667 in Lezignac-Durand, Charente-Maritime, Poitou-Charente, France, to Antoine Rapidieu and Laurence Cordeau. He immigrated from France to New France.

When he was 34, he married 26 year old Francoise Fleury on January 2, 1701 in Montreal. Together they had 10 children, 7 of whom would live to adulthood:

  1. Jean Marie (born 08 Jan 1702-07 Jul 1702; died at 6 months of age),
  2. Charles 29 May 1703-10 May 176 (m. Marie Francoise Martin Ladouceur),
  3. Marie Francoise 25 Apr 1705-09 May 1775 (m. Jean Baptiste Rouleau),
  4. Marie Madeleine 27 Nov 1706 in Montréal-05 Dec 1706 (lived 8 days),
  5. Marie 21 Nov 1707-08 Jan 1773 (m. Alexis Fauteux Bonsecour),
  6. Paul 24 Oct 1709-16 Sep 1774 (m. Marie Anne Jerome Latour),
  7. Marie Angelique (m. Jean Baptiste Choret),
  8. Marie Madeleine 21 Mar 1714-02 May 1714(died at 6 weeks),
  9. Michel 20 May 1715-24 Jun 1789 (m. Ursule Dubois Laviolette)
  10. Marie Louise (m. Jean Francois Query Frappenabord).

Jean Baptiste died on February 28, 1724. He was buried on March 1, 1724 at St-Laurent de Montréal, . Francoise was buried on August 11, 1752 at Ste. Genevieve (Pierrefonds).
