John Rankin (43) is on the 1881 census with wife Jannet (40) and their children (order seems to be quite different than in Mabou Pioneers); Angus (14), Donald (12), Catherine (10), Betsy (7), Annie (5) and John (2).[1]
Angus Beaton, "Aonghas Alasdair," was first married to Mary Cameron, daughter of John of South West Mabou, and had issue: i. Mary, ii. Donald, iii. Janet, iv. Catherine, v. Alexander, vi. John C., vii. Roderick and viii. Jessie Anne. He was married, the second time, to Marcella MacEachern of Judique without issue. He was married, the third time, to Elizabeth Rankin, daughter of John of Mabou Ridge, with issue: ix. Annie.[2]
Angus Beaton (62) son of Alexander Beaton and Janet McDonald then a widower married Elizabeth Rankin (40) daughter of John Rankin and Jessie McPhee on 12 Nov 1911.[3]
