Margaret was born in 1852 in Canada. She was the daughter of Alexander Ralston and Margaret McKerral. She came with her family to Illinois where they became part of the Scotch Settlement in Argyle. [1]
She married Alexander Ferguson in 1877. [2]
She passed away in 1937.
MRS. FERGUSON DIES AT HOME Resident Of County For More Than 80 Years Mrs. Margaret Ferguson, 84, 915 North Court Street, died of infirmities of old age at her home at 10:30 o'clock last night. Born at Chatham, Ontario, Canada, Nov. 4, 1852, Mrs. Ferguson had lived in Winnebago County since she was 3 years old.
Prior to her residence in Rockford, Mrs. Ferguson resided on a farm in Harlem township with her husband, the late Alexander Ferguson, who died June 3, 1919. The Fergusons retired from farming and moved to Rockford in 1904.
Mrs. Ferguson was an honorary deaconess of the First Presbyterian church here. Survivors are a son William J. Ferguson, a daughter, Miss Cora Ferguson, four grandchildren, Howard, Raymond, Dorothy and Robert, and one great-grandchild, Betty Ferguson, all of Rockford. A sister, Mrs. C. H. Blass, Sturgis, Mich., and a brother, John D. Ralston, Rockford, also survive.[3]
Funeral arrangements were incomplete last night.
