Biography

OBITUARY: Richard Francis Rail died peacefully Tuesday September 11, 2018 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. Richard was born October 17, 1935 in Rhode Island where he graduated high school from La Salle Academy in 1951. Richard served in the US Army from 1955-1958 then earned a business degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1961 and became a Certified Public Accountant. He worked at St. Joseph Hospital for decades where he served on the board of directors and retired as CFO. Richard was a gracious and disciplined man who enjoyed golf, yearly visits to Hawaii with his wife and good Chardonnay. He is survived by his wife Andy; his son, Peter and his wife Amy; step children, David Sonnenberg, Susan Petersen and her husband Carl, Diane Metzler and her husband, Fred and Janet Brannock. These families producing seven grandchildren: Benjamin Rail, Ryan Brannock, Alyx Rohde, Cameron and Dillon Metzler, Oskar and Gunnar Petersen. Richard is also survived by his cousin Barbara Watkins. Memorial Service is on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Wyoming.
