Biography

I've lived in the USA all my life with the exception of one year toddling about the south of France while my father was in the US Navy. My roots here are in northern and central New Jersey but I've lived also in New England, Indiana, Virginia, New York, and northern California. For the past 35 years, I've lived in central Texas.

I was born "Theodore Emil Raab, Jr" but I usually go by "Ted Raab," except when necessary to differentiate me from my father.

Hi Ted. I saw that there are relatives you are searching for in Italy, specifically, Calabria and Puglia. Do you have any relatives with the surname Cerrone?

He would be my great-grandfather. He imigrated to the US with his family and lived in The Bronx and Westchester, NY. He was born late 1800’s. Died in 1959.

Howdy. The Italians are via my lovely ex. Cerrone isn't a name I recognize. I'll bet some searching on FamilySearch or Ancestry will show you some likely origins and dates. Then mine this vein of gold https://antenati.cultura.gov.it/the-site/?lang=en

I've just seen that I already have an account (Raab-118) that I created in 2017 but haven't accessed since 2018. I no longer have access to the email account that I used at that time. (Long story that I can go into, if necessary.) So I can't disable the earlier account's email to enable merging the old and new accounts. Is there some way around this?

Thank you.

Hi Ted,

I sent a request to our team to have your two accounts merged, keeping the new email address.

Hi, Ted --

Your new and old accounts have now been merged, and we kept your new email address.

Welcome back. :-)

Julie, WikiTree Community Assistant

Hi Ted, I see that you just volunteered and signed our honor code. That's great! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Why don't you stop by the German Roots Project, (currently leader/coordinated by Jacky Clark to see how you can participate? I'll let the leaders know you are interested!

Let me know if you need help with anything. We are glad to have you on board!

Ted,

Welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is unlike any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, so we all work together as one collaborative team.

What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research you’d like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to tell us about your genealogical interests as you join.

Once you volunteer to help build our global tree, our greeters will confirm your membership, and you’ll be on your way!

Welcome to the family! We’re really glad you’re here.
