Gilbert Pulvermacher was born on 7 October 1912, in Sauk City, the son of Edward Pulvermacher and Anna Schneider. He was united in marriage to Alta "Honey" Flagg on 20 April 1936, in Galesburg, Illinois. Alta preceded him in death on 26 July 1971. Gilbert married Leona Frey on 20 October 1973. Leona preceded him in death on 11 November 1989. He owned and operated Pulvermacher's Poultry and Eggs from 1932 until he retired in 1981. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, third-degree Knights of Columbus Black Hawk Council and fourth-degree Knights of Columbus Father Bourgmeyer Assembly, Baraboo, a charter and active member of the Sauk Prairie Lions Club for 62 years, past chairman of the Sauk Prairie Police Commission and a past member of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
