Albert “Runt” Pullins was one of the original team members of Abe Saperstein’s New York Harlem Globe Trotters.
Albert was born on November 23, 1909 in Wildsville, Concordia Parish, Louisiana. [1]He was the son of Charles P. Pullins and Rosa Bowie. [1]
On October 3, 1933 he married Elsie F. Day in Indiana. [2]
He passed away on October 19. 1985 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. Albert was the last surviving member of the original 1929 Harlem Globetrotters basketball team. [1][3]He was laid to rest on October 23, 1985 in Oakwoods Cemetery, Chicago, Cook, Illinois, United States. [1][4]
Some of the sources I have found for Albert list his birth date as November 23, 1910, but he is listed in the 1910 Iberville Parish, Louisiana census as 5 months of age. The census recorded all living members of the county as of April 15, 1910, which means that Albert was actually born November 23, 1909. The Social Security Death Index lists his birth year as 1909.
