Biography
Henry PROSSER was born in 1860 in Western Australia.[1] He is the son of Thomas Prosser and Marianne Pearson.
He married [North-5136|Rosina North]] in 1882 at Bunbury.[2]
Henry was a bootmaker at Bunbury, and in partnership with his brother WaIter established a tannery and later opened General Stores, subsequently managed by his son Charles.[3]
- Slowly but surely the reaper Death is taking from our midst the older residents and pioneers of the district. The men and women who have seen the town and district grow up, and the meta [?] change from wilderness to civilisation, are slowly disappearing. The name of Mr. Henry Prosser is now added to their number. This gentleman, who is widely known throughout the town and district as a citizen of high repute, passed away to-day about 1 p.m. at his residence in Spencer-street after an illness extending over the last three weeks. Born at Albany 59 years ago, the whole of his life has been spent in Western Australia.
- He married Miss Rosina North, and six sons and two daughters, the outcome of the union, live to mourn, with the widow, the loss of respectively the father and husband. One son (Jeffrey) died at Passchendaele while in the service of his country. The funeral is to take place to-morrow afternoon at 3.30 o'clock, when his remains will be interred in the Anglican portion of the new cemetery.[4]
