Aloha from Maui. I'm Merritt Henry James, the Henry part comes from my grandfather John Henry Mead who always went by Henry. My Mom is Mary Ann Mead of the Nebraska-Iowa Meads. John Henry's Dad was Tolbert, who's dad was Tobrit Talbert, who's dad was Job Mead abt 1770 - 19 Feb 1839

Greenwich, Fairfield, Connecticut Colony you should know the linage from there. I posted some pics of my Mead family from mom to Tolbrit . They were all farmer in Iowa till my grandpa moved across the river to Nebraska city because my Mom wanted to be in a city, even a small one. She and my father moved to Lincoln to attend the university and thats where i was born. I live with my grandmother, grandfather and uncle Robert Mead while my parents finish law school. Then i spent weekends and summers there after i moved to Lincoln. So I feel very close to the Meads. My Mead tree was on Ancestry I feel very confidant of because i was edited and corrected by Mead expert Bill Mead. The hardest part for me was some of me Meads married other Meads and it got a bit messy but thankfully Bill could straighten it out. His tree is exemplary because he's got all the brother, sisters and their partners. Aloha Merritt

I think the ONS sticker should be *below* the =Biography= header and your sentence in the bio should be altered accordingly. It is a sticker, after all...

Hi there. I am looking for the family of Cecil and Helen Mead. He was a watchmaker, I would guess in the 1800's. Apparently, they lived to be in their 90's. They had a granddaughter called Vida Helen Melvin Mead. Thank you for any help.

My great great grandparents were James and Mary Mead from Ireland (I'm told by relatives). Mary Mead arrived at Port Adelaide South Australia about 1866 with her baby also named Mary (Agnes) Mead. Mary Agnes Mead my great grandmother married Charles Hodge. Their daughter Emily Florence Hodge, my grandmother, married Neil McPhee. I have only been able to find one couple named James and Mary Mead in Adelaide at the given period of time applicable to my ancestors. This relates to husband James Mead and wife Mary Nee McCulloch Mead. I have not been able to find verification of a connection though with the McCulloch family other than them having the same name as my great great grandparents and their living in the same proximity.
I am not sure, but I do not think my Mead / Meade family is on your list. Mine starts with Kesiah MEAD (b. abt. 1805, d. abt. 1843, m. Thomas Blackburn AKERS on 24 April 1823 in Floyd County, Kentucky. Kesiah was the daughter of Samuel MEAD and Catherine GOODBREAD. Kesiah was the grand daughter of Robert MEAD who married Hannah RHODES. Robert was a Revolutionary War Patriot. I think that Robert's father was John Mead who I have born about 1703 in Cecil County, Maryland.

Thanks for starting this page!

With the Main Branches of the family, are you trying to capture the first immigrants to New England? If so, might William Mead be one that is listed? He might be related to Gabriel, but I haven't looked yet.

Hi Gerald,

I've added your project to a better category so people can find you. Sounds like it would fit well in our One Name Studies Project. Thanks for starting it!
