Biography

Newton was born in 1856. He was the son of Hiram Price and Mary Hopper. He passed away in 1922. [1]

Newton was the owner and captain from 1897-1917 of the Valley Gem, a riverboat that transported coal for the McConnelsville-Zanesville trade on the Muskingum River.
