Biography

William Prees was born in 1766 in St Mary Hill, Glamorgan, Wales and was baptized on 12 January 1766 at St Mary, St Mary Hill, Glamorgan, Wales. He was the son of William and Diana Prees^[1]

Censuses

In 1851, William Preece (87) was a widowed farmer in Treoes in the parish of Llangan, living with his sons William (55) and John (51), a daughter-in-law, Esther Preece (58) and two grandchildren, John Preece (14) and Charlotte Preece (14). ^[2]

In 1861, at 98, he lived with his two sons, John and Jenkin and his daughter-in-law, Esther Preece and two granddaughters, Charlotte Gronow and Jane Preece. He was a landed proprietor farmer of 57 acres of land.^[3]

William Preece died in 1862 (aged 99 years old) in Treoes, Glamorganshire, Wales and was buried on 1 September 1862 at St Crallo's Churchyard, Coychurch, Glamorganshire, Wales.^[4]
