Biography

Samuel was born in 1642. He was the son of Godfrey Powell. He passed away in 1678.

Samuel was baptized at Stoke, St. Gregory, Somersetshire, England on 20 Sept 1642, but was an early convert to the Religious Society of Friends. He married Deborah Powle of Stoke (b. 1640) at a Friends' Meeting in 1670 (3rd Month, 6th day OS date). His son, Samuel, emigrated to the Pennsylvania with Samuel's sister, Ann and her husband John Parsons after the death of Samuel and Deborah. ^[1]
