s/o Capt. Samuel Pottinger and Jenny Caldwell.

Never Married, died at age 19 from "pneumonia caused by bathing in the spring while overheated from work in the meadow".

"He had been at work in the harvest field, became overheated and in order to cool himself off immersed his head in the cold water at the old spring. Pneumonia followed and he died of the disease."-Forrest Pottinger (family historian)
