Carlos Lee Poston was born on May 9, 1925 in White, Tennessee, United States, son of Dewey George Poston (1899–1979) and Sarah Emeline Flatt (1905–1972).

Carlos married Vella Mai Redmon (born on February 20, 1928 in Keltonburg, DeKalb, Tennessee; daughter of John Monroe Redmon and Aubra Pearl (Adamson) Redmon).

Carlos (40) married Shirley Ann Kirby (25) (born on May 3, 1940 in Quebeck, White; daughter of James Willard Kirby and Jewel (Jackson) Kirby) on September 18, 1965 in White. ^[1]
