Lucretia Porter was born in 1768 in Middlesex County, Connecticut, New England. She was the daughter of Abner PORTER b: 1732 in Haddam, Middlesex Co., Connecticut, and his wife, Anne (Maiden Name "Unknown") Porter.
On April 5, 1787 in Killingworth, Middlesex Co., Conn., USA, Lucretia Porter married William Snow b: 24 AUG 1765 in Lyme, New London Co., Connecticut. They had 10 children, all born in Killingworth, Middlesex Co., Connecticut, USA: [1]
William Snow died on September 7, 1833 in Clinton, Middlesex Co., Connecticut, USA. He is buried at Indian River Cemetery, Clinton, Connecticut. Lucretia (Porter) Snow survived him. On August 31, 1841, at 73 years old, she married widower, Elias Stevens, born in September 1764 in Killingworth, Middlesex Co., Connecticut. He died before 1860 and Lucretia moved in with her daughter Sally (Snow) Wright on Sally's farm that was run by her son, Samuel E. Wright.
On the 1860 US Census, for Westbrook, Middlesex County, Connecticut, Lucretia (Snow) Stevens, age 92, is reported living with widow Sally (Snow) Wright and Sally's son, Samuel E. Wright, on his farm.[2]
Lucretia died the next year, in Westbrook, Middlesex Co., Connecticut, USA, on August 1, 1861. She is buried at Indian River Cemetery, Clinton, Connecticut, as "Lucretia Porter," next to her first husband and Sally (Snow) Wright's father, William Snow.[3]
