The heirs of Simon Porter and his widow Jane Porter sold land 16 Feb 1837 to Asahel Porter in Kings County - Book 10, Page 442, Number 5524:
This indenture made the 16th Feb 1837 Between Simon Porter’s (late deceased) and Jane Porter’s lawful heirs namely Orinda (late deceased) formerly the wife of Silas Caton and her lawful heirs namely Jane Caton, Eleanor Caton and Orinda Caton as follows them Abraham Porter, Isaac Porter, Jacob Porter Jemima Pineo, Rebecca Caton, Newton Porter, Mary Alice Porter and Hnery Porter and the above named Jane Porter Widow of Cornwallis in Kings County in the Province of Nova Scotia of the one part and Asael Porter of said Corwnalis yeoman of the other part all interest in the Real Estate of the late Eber Porter stiutate in Cornwallis

There’s room in the family of John Caton and Rebecca Porter too. I have a gap between the birth of their son Asa H. Porter b. abt 1827 and Joseph W. b. abt 1833. Then I have Sophia b. abt 1836, Newton b. abt 1838, and Susannah b. abt 1840. Rebecca Porter I have as b. abt 1801, so there’s room for children before 1827 too. I don’t have a marriage date for he and Asa.

Lastly, I’m interested in Simon Porter’s family too. I found a listing of the children of Simon and his wife Jane (Power) Porter and think they may have been listed in order. The names from the deed that names daughter “Rebecca Caton” and three children of the late Orinda Caton don’t seem to be in order. So, here’s the list along with the dates I’ve found. You’ll note they line up quite well, and if in order, give a good sense of Orinda Porter’s year of birth.
