Francis was born in January 1800 in Ireland. He came to New Brunswick, Canada at about the age of 15. He married local girl Bethia Sheck on April, 1825 - at the time, he was described as a farmer.
The couple had seven childen together, one of whom died 4 days prior to his wife's death in 1842.
In 1849 he remarried, this time to Sarah Ann Dysart, who was also a native of Ireland. They lived together with his son Frank.
He passed away in 1888.
Research Notes
He is likely buried in the Tabor Cemetery, Upham, Kings, NB. There is a broken gravestone with no name, but the date of death and age are correct. This gravestone can be seen adjacent to that of Frank Porter, his 1st child with whom he lived.
