Ethel was born on the 7th January 1910 the daughter of Benjamin Edward Porter (~1870 - 1934) and Louisa Rose Maud (Shinner) Porter (1883 - 1962), and her birth was registered in the 1st quarter 1910 in Devonport, Devon.[1][2][3]
1911 Census on the 2nd April 1911 Ethel living at 8 Waterloo Street, Devonport, Devon with her parents Benjamin and Louisa, and her brother Edward.[4]
In the 1921 census Ethel (age 11) was the daughter of Benjamin E Porter at 20 Wellington Street, Stoke, Devonport, Devon, England.[5]
