MAHER, A very old resident of Pennant Hills, Mrs. Bridget Ellen Maher, relict of the late E. J. Maher, died on Thursday, at the age of 72 years. The old lady had been suffering from pneumonia and the effects of a collision with a vehicle, and had been under the care of Dr. R. Waugh. The funeral takes place to-day.

The funeral of Mrs. Bridget Maher of Pennant Hills, took place on Saturday last, the arrangements being in the hands of Mr. R. Metcalfe, Parramatta. The solemn cortege moved at 1 p.m. from the deceased's late residence, Pennant Hills, for the North Rocks cemetery, where the Rev. Father Murphy, of Waitemata, read the Iast prayers of the Church over the coffin. Gathered in the cemetery were of all the best known families of the district. — Mrs. Maher, who was 72 years of age, left 11 children, three of her off-spring, having predeceased her. She was a daughter of the late Mr. Porter, and she was married at Parramatta. She was a native of our district.
