Elias Hale was brothers with Harrison Hale who had married Cynthia Doak in 1860.
Elias and Harrison also had a brother named Michael who had a daughter named Sarah Hale. This Sarah Hale married William Baker who's brother was John S. Baker who in 1860 married Missouri Winkle.
Missouri Winkle was the sister of Martha Ann Winkle who married McCauley Porter in 1853. They already had two Porter brothers who had married two Winkle sisters and McCauley and Martha Ann were the third set.
McCauley and Martha Ann had a son named John Franklin Porter who married Rebecca Angel and they were the parents of McCauley Porter who married Mabel Swick.
So it was something like,
McCauley's great grandfathers second wifes first husbands brothers daughter married the brother of the husband of his great aunt Missouri Winkle.
