Biography
Arien was born in 1580. He was the son of Lenaert Lenaertsz Pors and Aechtgen Adriaansdr Pors. He passed away in 1643.
Arien de Jonge Pors fathered a child out of wedlock with Celijtge Huyge. Arien does not seem to want to take responsibility and Celijtge's father takes the case to the city counsel (schepen) on Feb 11, 1612. Arien states that he was seduced.
The city counselors (schepen) don't seem to know what to do with the case. On October 13, 1612 they put 12 gulden on the table to hire lawyers (rechtsgeleerden). The judgement comes back as follows:
Arien has to pay
- 30 carolus gulden for the cost of the delivery
- 150 carlous gulden for "taking her honor"
- 50 carlus gulden a yearfor the cost of raising the child
Celijtge and her father won the case. Later Arien has to also pay on April 10, 1613 for the cost of the case and the lawyers.
On May 17, 1613 Adriaen the Older, brother of Arien the younger, pays 150 Carolus Gulden for the case.
In 1616 the city counsel (schepen) declare that Arien is not taking care of the child.
In the end Arien and Celtijtge did get married. In the records of Ridderkerk we read on May 3, 1626 that Celtijtge Huyge is widow of Arien Lenearts Pors in Klaaswaal and remarries.

Pors als voogd van de weeskinderen van de Jonge Adriaen Lenertsz. Pors en Aechtge Lenertsdr. zijn broeder- en zusterkinderen, mitsgaders van Toontgen Lenertsdr. zijn zuster, en nog vervangende zijn andere broeders hebben getransporteerd aan Pieter Woutersz. decker een huis en erf in Charlois aan ’s Herendijk op Smitshoek.
