Research Notes

  • Wikipedia says he was aboard the Euryalus at the Battle of Trafalgar. The Trafalgar Companion does not mention him, nor does the Trafalgar Ancestors website. 17 April 2018 Seems to have been removed from Wikipedia
  • The 1911 Encyclopædia Britannica entry for Popham states he was his mother's 21st child.[1] This appears to be in conflict with the 2021 Wikipedia statement that he was the 15th child of his parents.
