Biography

Dean was born 9 Jun 1897 in Joseph, Wallowa County, Oregon. He was the son of Edgar Anderson Pollock and Edith Mabel Amey.^[1][2]

In 1900 he was living in Joseph Precinct Joseph town, Wallowa, Oregon.^[3] The household included Agnes Amey 45, son Dean Amey 19, daughter Bernice Amey 17, daughter Maud Amey 16, son Samuel Amey 11, son-in-law Ed A Pollock 31, daughter Mable Pollock 21, grandson Dean Pollock 3, and granddaughter Lucille Pollock 1. Agnes was widowed, the mother of 5 children, all living, and was a washerwoman. Son Dean was a day laborer. Ed was a house carpenter.

On 18 Apr 1910 he was enumerated in the census in Sutton, Muskogee, Oklahoma.^[4] The household included Edgar A Pollock 40, wife Mabel A Pollock 31, son Dean Pollock 12, daughter Lucile Pollock 9, and daughter Elizabeth Pollock 4. Edgar and Mabel had been married 14 years. Edgar was a printer with his own shop. He was also enumerated in the 12 May 1910 census for Justice Precinct 3, Armstrong, Texas.^[5] The household included Edgar A Pollock 40, wife Mabel Pollock 31, son Dean Pollock 13, daughter Lucille Pollock 10, daughter Mary Pollock 4, and brother-in-law Harry D Amey 27. Edgar was a farmer. Edgar and Mabel had been married 14 years. Mabel was the mother of 3 children, all living. Harry was a farmer.

He served in the military from 6 Apr 1917 to 28 Mar 1919.^[6]

In 1920 he was living in Gooding, Gooding, Idaho.^[7] The household included Edgar A Pollock 49, wife Mabel A Pollock 40, son Dean Pollock 22, daughter Lucile A Pollock 20, and daughter Mary E Pollock 14. Edgar was a painter, working as a house decorator. Dean and Lucile were single.

Mildred K Brown and Dean Pollock were married 29 Jun 1923 in Pierce, Washington.^[8]

In 1930 he was living in Chicago (Districts 1251-1500), Cook, Illinois.^[9] The household included Dean Pollock 32, wife Mildred K Pollock 31, son Richard W Pollock 5, daughter Muriel Pollock 2, sister Lucille Pollock 30 and sister-in-law Margaret A Brown 25. Dean was a commercial artist for a machine company. Lucille and Margaret were single. Margaret was a junior high school teacher.

In 1940 he was living in Tract 1, Portland, Portland City Election Precinct 78, Multnomah, Oregon.^[10] The household included Dean Pollack 42, wife Mildred W Pollack 41, son Richard W Pollack 15 and daughter Muriel B Pollack 12. Dean was art director for an advertising company.

He registered for the World War II draft in Milwaukie, Clackamas, Oregon.^[11]

He died 22 Apr 1971 in Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon^[12][13][14] and is buried in River View Cemetery, Portland, Multnomah County, Oregon.^[15]
