John Polk is a part of US Black heritage.

John was born in 1888 in Mississippi.

John served with the U.S. Army as a Private First Class in Company H of the 805th Pioneer Infantry during World War I.^[1]

In 1940 John was living with his wife Myrlie (Beasley) Polk in Vicksburg, Mississippi where he worked as an agriculturist agent for the county. According to the census he had completed four years of college.^[2]

He passed away in 1943 in Warren County, Mississippi.^[3] He was buried in Vicksburg National Cemetery in Vicksburg, Mississippi.^[4]
