Augustin was born in 1785. He is the son of Pierre Poisson and Marguerite Normandeau.
He married Marguerite Michel on April 15, 1812.
He married Marie-Louise Heon, daughter of François Heon and Louise-Marie Bourque, on 27 July 1845 in Plessisville.
