Biography
Birth
Sarah Ann was born on 21 Sep 1871 in Kensal Green, Middlesex.[1] She was baptised on 5th November 1871 at St John the Evangelist, Kensal Green and her birth date is recorded on the register. At the time of her baptism the family were living at 13 Offenham Terrace, and her father, Charles, was working as a plumber.[2]
Emigration
On 17th April 1874, Caroline, 26, along with her husband Charles (29) and children Sarah Ann (2), Charles (1) and Caroline (1 month) left the UK on board the "Hereford" from Gravesend, Kent, as part of the Assisted Emigration programme. The records show that the Government paid £43 10 shillings for the family's passage. They arrived in Canterbury, New Zealand on 14th July 1874.[3]
Marriage
Sarah Ann married Henry Church in 1888.[4]
After Henry's death in 1917, Sarah Ann remarried to William Innes in 1921.[5]
Death
Sarah Ann died on 29th March 1949 in Fairton, New Zealand.[6] She was buried at Sydenham Cemetery, Christchurch City, Canterbury, New Zealand[7]
