Samuel was baptised at St Mary the Virgin, Arkesden, Essex on 7th August 1836[1]. He was the son of David Pluck and Sarah (King) Pluck. His father stated on the register that he was a labourer.
Marriage
Samuel Pluck married Elizabeth Waylett after banns on 29th October 1859 at St Mary and St Clement, Clavering, Essex.[2] Samuel was a 23 year old bachelor, working as a labourer and living in Arkesden, the son of David Pluck who was a labourer. Elizabeth was 18, a spinster living in Clavering and the daughter of George Waylett who was a journeyman cooper. They each signed their own name on the register and the witnesses to the marriage were George Waylett and Mary Ann Burgess[3][4]
