Henry Pluck and Mary Pluck were married after banns at All Saints, West Ham, Essex on 16th May 1852[1]. They were bachelor and spinster, both of full age and living in Canning Town. Henry was a labourer and the son of John Pluck, also a labourer. Mary was the daughter of Joseph Pluck who was a labourer. Mary signed her own name but Henry could only make his mark with a cross and the witnesses to the marriage were Robert Hoye and Ann Hoye[2].
