Censuses

Date: 1881[4]
Residence: 47 East Lane, Sheerness, Kent Emily (14) was working as a domestic servant and living at home with her parents Edward (54), still working as a bricklayer, and Sarah (52). Three other siblings were at home with them: Robert was now 21, William was 11 and George was 10. Also with them was Emily's niece, Maude Fielding, who was one year old and born in Sheerness. She was the child of Emily's sister Esther.

With her were two children: Emily J who was 3 years old and born in Sheerness, and William H who was 2 years of age and born in Gillingham. Also resident was Emily's niece Elizabeth Wood who was 11, a scholar and born in Sheerness. She was the daughter of Emily's sister Emma.

Date: 1901[6]

William R (34) was a Sergeant in the Royal Engineers and Emily was 33. They had two children with them: daughter Emily J was 13 and was born in Sheerness, Kent like her mother, and son William H was 12 and had been born in Chatham, Kent.

Date: 1911[7]
Residence: 20 Crombe Road, Gravesend, Kent
William (43) was a labourer (general) under R.E. dept, and gave his place of birth as Falmouth, Cornwall. Emily (43) was born in Sheerness, Kent. She stated on the census that they had been married for 24 years and had two children born alive to the marriage and they were both still living.

Notes

Cannot locate in 1871 census.

The 1891 census has been incorrectly transcribed with the surname Taylor for Emily and her children. The image clearly shows that the William Taylor recorded on the live above Emily is a separate household. The presence of the children and more importantly Emily's niece confirms that this is Emily Pluck now Harvey.
