Son of Edward, Prince of Wales and Joan of Kent. [3][4]
Birth
Born: 27 January 1365 at Château d'Angoulême in Angoulême, France (then part of the Duchy of Aquitaine). [2]
Death
Died: 29 September 1370 at Angoulême, France.
He is sometimes said to have died in January 1371; however, the Wigmore Chronicle of 1370 states that Edward died "around the feast of Saint Michael [29 September]" This is the generally accepted date now.
Burial:(Royal Ancestry) He was originally buried where he died, in Bordeaux in Aquitaine. But in 1388-9 King Richard II sent Robert, Bishop of Aire, on a mission to Aquitaine to bring the bones of Edward, the king's brother, back to England. Edward's remains were subsequently buried in the church of the Friars Preachers at Chilterne Langley (parish of King's Langley), Hertfordshire, but removed sometime before the 1550's to the church of the Austin Friars, London.
