When Thomas Pike was born on May 5, 1847, in Sampford Courtenay, Devon, his father, Thomas, was 25 and his mother, Mary Ann, was 27. He married Ellen Smith on October 5, 1878, in Sarnia, Ontario. They had four children during their marriage. He died on October 11, 1925, in Strathroy, Ontario, at the age of 79, and was buried there.^[1]
