Lizzie Benedict Pierson was probably born in Orange, New Jersey, before 1850.[1] She moved with her parents in 1850 (if she was born in Orange), to Hartford, Conn.[2] Sometime after her father died in 1863 at Hartford, she moved to Andover, Mass., where she was the author of Pierson Genealogical Records, published in 1878.[3]
After writing the book, she went to China in 1878 to be a missionary with her brother, Rev. Isaac Pierson who had earlier gone to China in 1870 as a missionary.[4] She entrusted her book to Rev. George Rogers Howell (author of The Early History of Southampton, L.I., New York) as editor and to ensure its publication, which occurred March 1878.[5]
It is unknown to the authors of Pierson Millennium if she married, if she returned to China, or when she died.[6]
