Richard was born about 1781 in Binsted, Hampshire, England. He was the son of Richard Pidgley and Eleanor Connor.
The 1841 England and Wales Census shows the couple and three children living in Boldre, Hampshire, England.[1] John was 60 years old.
John passed away in 1871 in Fareham, Hampshire, England.[2] He was 90 years old.
In Sussex in January 1826 a Christiana Macdougall was sentenced along with John Pidgley to one year imprisonment for possesion of a counterfeit coin. He was a Tramper doing Chair Mending and casual Labouring.
In 1851 he had a "Housekeeper" Louisa Wells, b Weston Meon and her son James Wells b 1848 in Boldre (where John had been at that time)
