Biography

William Pickering was born 26 May 1782, as recorded in the Solebury Quaker records (image attached). He was the son of John Pickering and Rachel Duer. On April 12, 1810, William married Tabitha Croasdale at the Middletown MM, Bucks, Pennsylvania.^[1][2] On May 6, 1817, William and Tabitha Pickering, and their two children, Sarah and Macary, were issued Certificates of Removal from the Solebury MM to the Stroudsburg MM.^[3] They appear on the membership list for the Richmond MM, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.^[4] On April 1, 1831, William and Tabitha Pickering, and their daugher Macre, recieved a Certfifcate of Removal from the Richland MM to the Greenstreet MM, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Sarah Pickering received her own Certificate of Removal the same day.^[5]
