He became master of minting at Stadtberge (now [1989] Niedermarsberg) and Paderborn [both in [North Rhine - Westphalia], in Detmold [North Rhine - Westphalia] from 1618 to 1620, and then in the Electorate of Cologne, and finally general master of minting for Electoral Cologne.
(The genealogist's published work does not record Jakob's date of birth, nor of four of his six siblings. His birthdate here is my rough guess, and follows the genealogist's (tentative) sequence of children born to Georg Pfahler and Ottilie Stumpfel. Jakob may have been born a few years earlier, or a little later.)
"1608 Münzmeister zu Stadtberge (jetzt Niedermarsberg) und Paderborn, 1618-1620 Münzmeister in Detmold, dann in Kurfürstentum Köln, zuletzt kurkölnischer Generalmünzmeister."
