Ellen enrolled as a Creek citizen but she was half Creek and half Cherokee as told by her granddaughter, my grandmother but the government wouldn't allow Indians to enroll in more than one nation. Her mother was full-blooded Creek and her father was full-blooded Cherokee. Note: Her father was raised by Watt Grayson according to an interview by Thomas S. Watson to the Commissioner to the Five Civilized Tribes, August 17, 1906.
