Per the baptismal record linked in this profile, Jacques' LNAB is Pepin, not Pepin dit Lachance. Please consider following WikiTree guidelines and updating his LNAB. Thank you!

Sheila, Thank you for your notice about Jacques Pepin. Neither the baptism nor burial church records include the dit name LaChance, but the church marriage record does, as does PRDH, both for his individual and family profile, as well as a notary record of his era, albeit that one could have been another person. Per the guidelines I changed the LNAB by removing the dit name and made note that other records, including one church record, does include it. Thank you for calling this to my attention.

Thanks for your note, Bob. WikiTree asks for "Last Name at Birth" which, in this instance, is Pepin. However the burial record does say Pepin dit Lachance in the text of the record; the margin notes the name as Pepin. As you may know, "dit" names should not be included in the LNAB box. Names and spellings change over time, so it's best to follow the parish records carefully. Thanks for making the change. Sheila B
