It is once again time for our annual Scotland Project check-in. Please respond within the next three weeks to let us know:
•If you would like to continue as a project member •If you are happy with your current teams or would you like to join a different team •How much time per month (on average) you spend working on Scottish profiles •Anything you’d like the Scotland Project to do more of in the future
You can respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within the next three weeks we’ll assume your interests have changed or you are no longer able to participate in the Scotland Project at this time, and your badge will be removed. If your circumstances change later you will be welcome to reapply for membership.
On behalf of the Scotland Project, I would like to thank you for your commitment to the project's goals. Every single contribution you make helps improve Scottish profiles!
Sheena - Scotland Project Membership Coordinator
I noticed that you used the Challenge Tracker to track a change during a recent Saturday Sourcing Sprint. Please consider officially joining us for the Saturday Sourcing Sprints. You can find information on the rules and how to join on the Sprints Help page.
No pressure, every profile with a source makes our WikiTree better, but only registered sprinters can compete for the winner's badge. Your work will continue to be included in Tracking Sheet's Unregistered total at the bottom of the help page if you do not register. Let me know if you have any questions.
Your work is appreciated. Thanks for sourcing!

This year we are hoping to learn what our membership would like to accomplish over the next 12 months.
In case you aren't aware, this year is WikiTree's ""Year of Connections"" and the Project's leadership would like to contribute to this in as many ways as possible.
We would appreciate it if you would share your thoughts and ideas with us on how we can accomplish this goal. We would also appreciate it if you would provide some feedback on our existing goals, including:
We continue to communicate with our Project members via Google Group (official) and Discord (unofficial), as well as G2G. You may also reach out to any of the Project leaders via WikiTree's internal messaging system at any time.
Thank you for all you do to help the Scotland Project become a knowledge hub for Scottish genealogical research! We wish you all the best in 2022!
Sincerely, Amy Gilpin on behalf of the Scotland Project Leaders
I hope to start a Penman one name study as there are so many bad Penman family trees out there and in that end I'm also busy entering any Penmans I can find that aren't in Wikitree, severing some and connecting others. Im also a Tartan Trail Guide and I help people when I find them entering trees with no citations. I hope that's enough.
Great to catch up with you again Elizabeth. Our Rae Families certainly did well in reproducing. Elizabeth I would very much like to catch up more, and talk about our Rea connections. I and two other Laing / Rae descendants have a FB Page where we share certificates, Photos and research Material, would you be interested in joining our Group ??
Our page is LAING Families & our DNA Matches.
We are in fact looking at changing our Name to include not just Rae and Laing but also our Laird families as in the end they are all turning up in a lot of our families, same with the McLuckie Families as well.
Will leave it with you
Regards Leanne :)
We share a very small cM of 5.7 with 6 segments BUT your Margaret RAE 1821-1889 is my 2c5r. Margaret's Great Grandparents were James RAE & Margaret PAUL, and they are my 6th Great Grandparents :)
My Line comes down from:
Thomas and Helen / Ellen EWING / EVAN / EUAN.
My Kit No is: A153104
Regards Leanne :)
It’s time for a Project check-in!
Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.
What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?
This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.
Did I ever reply to this? I am still trying to finish entering my family tree - properly. I hastily did it last year and now that I understand the formatting (sort of) I am going back and amending some of the information. I've also taken on a leader position on the Tartan Trail which has proved challenging. Some of the things I took in while doing the Tartan Trail myself are being nailed in now that I have to tutor other people. I've also taken several profiles in Ayrshire and connected them or added citations.
Thanks for checking up on me.
If you have any questions regarding Clan Fraser, I am available to assist.
Regards, David.
Your Digital Cousin, Danielle
One of our mentors created a tutorial for the GEDCOMpare process that others found very helpful. I hope that you will too.

Thanks for all the work you accomplished during our Connect-A-Thon 2020. It is amazing how many more profiles were created and added to our Shared Tree over the weekend. I hope you’ll join us for the Source-a-thon this fall.
Kind regards,

Thanks for having a big heart and adopting the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention those profiles need.
Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up gedcom biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working with members of the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus. Review the project pages for special guidelines and to learn how to collaborate with the project members.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.
