Hi Chase

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Also noticed you made 271 contributions to Wikitree, thank you! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key!

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Here is a list of our WikiTree projects you might like to check out: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects

Why don't you also stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.

Dorothy, Volunteer Coordinator.

Hi!

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.

If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.

Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page.

Chase --

You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree. Thank you for volunteering!

Be sure to read How to Use Wikitree. It's full of information to get you started.

Also, our G2G forum is a great way to get to know our community. Join the fun with our Question of the Week: What do you do when you find a "black sheep?"

Once you get settled, take a look at the Volunteers Needed page. It lists all the great ways to help out our collective effort.

We’ll check back with you in a couple of days to see how things are going. Meanwhile, enjoy getting to know WikiTree!

Julie

Hi, Chase --

Welcome to WikiTree!

One of the best ways to start finding your way around is the link in the email you just got! :-)

That link will take you to a page that will give you some great tips on getting started.

WikiTree is a bit different than other genealogy websites because our goal is to have one profile per person. This means we share ancestors and work together as a BIG collaborative team on the same family tree!

I see you volunteered before I could properly greet you. Thank you! I'll be right back to confirm your membership.

Julie
