...SEE MERGE just proposed Peek-246Peek-202- Please link to daughter Jannetje - her baptism is now on her profile and both her parents. Peek-246Peek-202
Thanks for this request, Beryl. I was flummoxed by the baptism record transcript that showed her father's last name as Banta, so I didn't want to touch this one until I could confirm that this was simply an omission in the transcript -- not a genealogy error. :-o
Done, but before I did so I found it necessary to add citations to record(s) (source(s)) to substantiate the relationship.
Please don't ask project leadership to make connections between profiles when the only source(s) for the connection is an unsourced online family tree or similar source. We already have the misfortune of having to deal with a great many legacy profiles/connections that lack good evidence; we are not looking to create more of the same.
Thank you for your help. I was researching Cornelius Bogert of Bergen County when I came across the profiles on genealogieonline.nl. That led me to Rachel Peek. Since that Wikitree profile mentioned a daughter Rachel with the same date of birth as the profile on genealogieonline.nl, I assumed the connection. Later I found the reference to Cornelius and his wife Rachel Peek in the Schraanlenburg archives which I thought was a primary source. I will try to expand the references as I go through the Schraanlenburg records.
Samuel, Jacobus, and David Pake were Loyalists in the American war for independence. Captains in William Franklin's King's Militia Volunteers, they acted as saboteurs, spies, and bounty hunters for the British army. The three brothers’ estates were confiscated by the rebel authorities and a bounty was placed on their heads. Jacobus and David were taken prisoner. David was sentenced to death but he died of natural causes.
