Biography

Birth

Nothing is known of the ancestry of Abigail Paul. According to her gravestone, she was born in 1788.^[1] The 1860 census shows her in the household of her son John as 72 years old, born in Massachusetts.^[2]

Marriage

On 4 Apr 1809, the town clerk of Livermore, Maine (then in Massachusetts), certified that "an intention of marriage between and Miss Abigail Paul and Mr. John Sanders, both of Livermore, "hath been entered with me fourteen days prior to the date hearof [sic] and has been published in Livermore as the Law Directs."'^[3] Their first child was born at Livermore on 5 Mar 1810.^[4]

Death

No record has been found of the death of Abigail (Paul) Sanders. A gravestone at the Waters Hill Cemetery in Livermore, Maine, is inscribed with the dates 1788-1861.^[1]
