Biography

Eva (Paul) Lockey was born in North Carolina.

George Battle Paul and Iva Mae Smithwick were her parents.^[1]

She appeared in the home of her parents in both the 1920^[2] and 1930^[3] census records.

Eva Mae Paul married on 23 May 1937 Gordon Mason Lockey.^[4]

Eva Lockey, Obituary (28 Dec - 31 Dec 2011, Jacksonville Daily News):

MOREHEAD CITY - Eva Paul Lockey, 97, of Morehead City, died 26 Dec 2011.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am Friday, 30 Dec at Munden Funeral Home with the Rev LaVera Parato officiating.

She was an active member of Angier Primitive Baptist Church prior to becoming a member of Newport River Primitive Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Mason Lockey. Survivors include her daughters, Ann Lockey Coker of Beaufort, Jeanette Lockey Peck of Selma and Martha Lockey Lawrence of Gloucester; son, Kent Lockey of Raleigh; 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to Community Home Care and Hospice, Snug Harbor Employee Fund 272 Hwy 70 East, Sea Level, NC 28577, or charity of your choice.

Condolences may be left at Munden Funderal Home.
