Note N2The 1880 census from Hazelwood, Webster County, Missouri shows Amanda's age as 36 which would make an estimated birth date of 1844. It also shows a 10 year old son - John M. Talley. This is Amanda's son (10/12) as shown on the 1870 P.O. Osage, Franklin County, Illinois census and lists Robert Patterson as head of family and Elizabeth as Amanda's mother. He was evidently given the Talley name after she and John L. Talley married on 08/01/1872. 1880 census also shows Amanda's father's birthplace as Virginia and her mother's as Tennessee.

The 1900 census from Ash Hill Twp, Butler County, Missouri shows Amanda's father being born in Illinois and her mother in Kentucky.
