John was born 11 Sep 1911 in Deandale, Jefferson County, Ohio, USA.

John married Ruth Lane. They had three children. John and his wife had their first child Jack Parr in 1936, while living in Kentucky, however Jack was raised in Richmond, Virginia where his brothers Harry and Bruce were born.

In the 1940's John and his family resided in Winchester, Frederick, Virginia, USA. He worked at the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company.

John Mays Parr Sr. passed away 31 Jan 1962 in Richmond, Henrico County, Virginia, USA. He was buried however with his wife and the "Lane" family at the Union Cemetery, Steubenville, Jefferson County, Ohio, USA.
