Ellen Parr was christened on 11 Jul 1841 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. She was the daughter of William and Mary Parr. Her father's occupation was recorded as file maker, and the family's address as Rainhill. [1]
By March 30th 1851, Ellen was living with her parents in Rainhill, Lancashire. Her father was a toolmaker. [2]
By April 7th 1861, Ellen and her two young children were living with her (half-?) brother Edmund and family in Long Row Hillock St, Prescot, Lancashire. She was described as his sister-in-law in the census. [3]
Ellen married William "Holderhead" (or Aldred or Aldridge) in 1863 at St Helens Parish Church. [4]
By April 2nd 1871, William and Ellen had several children, and Ellen's mother Mary Parr was living with them. [5]
William died in 1876, aged 33. [6] He was buried on 12 Dec 1876 at the church of St Mary the Virgin in Prescot, Lancashire. [7]
By April 3rd 1881, Ellen was still a widow. She was living in Prescot, Lancashire with her children and a lodger. [8]
"She seems to have been married to William Parr when she has Martha, but in the census is alone with children Martha and David, but then later appears as Mrs Aldridge living with Martha (listed as stepdaughter) and Mary Parr (mother in law)"
In the birth registrations of Ellen's children Martha and David on the GRO website, their mother's maiden name is listed as "-", indicating they were born out of wedlock and Parr was Ellen's maiden name:

In 1861, Ellen was living with her "brother-in-law" Edmund Robinson. Ellen's parents, William Parr and Mary Robinson, married in 1833:

Edmund's marriage record shows his father to be Ellen's father:

Thornton Mostyn Incumbent Register: Marriages 1841 - 1858, Page 123, Entry 246 Source: LDS Film 1849656
Edmund's christening record shows his mother to be Mary Ann Robinson:

So it's a little unclear whether Edmund was Ellen's full brother born before their parents married, or whether he named William Parr on his marriage record as the father who brought him up, and "sister-in-law" on the 1861 census meant half-sister.
