William was born in 1818 in St Pancras, Middlesex. He is the son of William Paradise and Mary [1]
In 1851 he was living with his parents in Newcastle as 34 year old Engraver. He was unmarried.[2]
He married Mary Ann Holyoake on 20 Aug 1854 in Birmingham, Warwickshire, England .
The mariage record states that he was 36, single and the son of William and she was 26, single and the daughter of Thomas Holyoake
[3].
It is not clear why his father is named as both William (1851) and Thomas (marriage record).
