Biography

Mrs. Cathel Mae Palmer Chester, 83, of Nicholson, died Saturday, March 1, 2003, at BJC Nursing Home, Commerce. Mrs. Chester was born October 7, 1919, in Oglethorpe County, a daughter of the late William Oscar and Annie Sue Barnett Palmer. She was a homemaker and a member of Nicholson Congregational Holiness Church. Mrs. Chester was preceded in death by her husband, W.T. Chester. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, at the River of Life Worship Center, Nicholson, with the Revs. Dennis Kesler and J.D. Sosebee officiating. Burial was in the Nicholson Cemetery. Survivors include four sons, Kenneth Chester, Redstone, Oral Chester, Center, and Randall Chester and Ray Chester, both of Nicholson; four daughters, Pam Daniel, Phyllis Vaughn and Wanda Weldon, all of Nicholson, and Barbara Wilson, Watkinsville; two brothers, Clifford Palmer, Snellville, and John Palmer, Nicholson; five sisters, Ruby Borkman, Alpharetta, Myrtle Fouche, Annie Ruth Ward and Hilder Watkins, all of Nicholson, and Lottie Hand, Clearwater, Fla.; 25 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
