Hi Risa, I have restored the Cogan profiles to how they were before you made changes to themm. These people keep getting mixed up with the Boston family - and I know that is published in books but the books are wrong. Liz Shiffet added source information when she disconnected them over a year ago and just over the last few months, I have added almost all records available in VA to their profiles. Frances Bland, second wife of John of Charles City County was over 50 years old when she married and never had children. John Coggin of Isle of Wight may be a different man than John Coggin Jr of Charles City County but he was not the son of John Coggin Jr (or Sr) of Boston. I would love to help figure out the Isle of Wight Coggin family and I have been working on them.

Pettus 2 and Pettus 63 are different. There is no documentation saying that Dabney is in John Pettus 63 name. If you want to stay that John63 parents are insecure, however that is my lineage, it's from the Pettus Book by Bill Pettus (no deceased), so you are saying Bill is wrong. Several of us, intercepting at different levels, have done Y studies. I'm not certain of the parent's but Bill makes the case in his book.

Hi Risa. John Henry 'Doc' Callaway is my GGF. I see only two of his 6 children listed. I would like to add my grandfather to that list. I have already added him into my tree (he and my father did not previously exist on this site). I could also add the other kids if you don't have that information.

Thanks, Ruth, for the heads up on the Richard Roberts merge. I'm not sure of any relationships between us you inferred in your message,

Hi Risa,

Francis Asbury Garrett Bennett was my father Marvin Ivy Bennett's father. Dad had family papers he kept in his lockbox on his dad FAG's family, as well as his grandfather Micajah Bennett's family - so back to 1797. In 2000 I published on the descendants of Micajah's parents Benjamin Bennett & Delila Langston's descendants. Francis Asbury Garrett Bennett was md 3 times - first to Sarah Guill who bore all his children except Marvin whose mother was Sarah Jane Duff Bradhaw. Thank you for the good work you've done at this site. Evedene

I just came across the beautiful chart you did on our Knight descendants. Wow ! And my part of it is accurate !

Can you get us back to the Eppes? Just a generation more, I think. Evedene

Hi Risa, could you provide some documentation or reasoning for why you removed Ambrose Crain and his wife Elizabeth as the parents of John Benjamin Crain (Crain-650)? Thanks.

Risa,

Do you have copy of documentation you listed on Catherine Hunter profile. I love to find out more about her all I have story she belonged to a Major Hunter line. I was looking in West Virginia or Virginia. Wonder how she connects to North Carolina. Some have put her with Isaac Hunter I don’t have much on her on my end.

Hi Risa,

Thanks for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge and joining the President's Project! Collaboration with Pre-1700 Project members is essential for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because those ancestors are usually shared by many descendants.

It looks like the United States Project would be a good fit based on your branch of WikiTree. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Remember to cite reliable sources in pre-1700 profiles you manage, or edit. (See: Pre-1700 Reliable Sources).
