Communication Preferences: I am interested in communicating private message with cousins and anyone else with an interest in genealogy. My family tree is at <https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/pt/RSVP.aspx?dat=MTU4NTA1ODQ4OzswNTRlMzBmZS0wMDA2LTAwMDAtMDAwMC>.
I am originally from Los Angeles, California & currently reside in Key West, Florida. My dad was raised by his biological mother Frankie Jo Phillips until around age 8 he and his siblings were removed from the home. My father did not have a biological father named and his mother made up the last name Pounds for his surname on his birth certificate. Through DNA we discovered his father was Ray Junior Jacobs and that my father used to spend time in the home of his paternal grandparents Lottie Melissa (Poston) & George Washington Jacobs. My dad has a 1/2 brother who was a baby when they were put in state care, his name was Frank (unknown father) that we have been searching for, since he was a baby it is likely his name was changed.

Hi Gypsy,

It’s time for our annual Ireland Project check-in! Please respond within the next two weeks to let me know:

  • If you are happy with the team you’re on or if you’d like to make a change. It is now required that all members with an Ireland project badge work on at least one of the project’s team(s), so if you’ve not yet signed up please do so in your reply to this check-in.
  • What you think the project is doing well, and what (if any) changes you would like to see us make? Are there any teams you would like to become more active in?
  • Would you be interested in helping to work on an Ireland Project newsletter?
  • Please give us some feedback on the use of google group and discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way for us to ensure you receive project communications? If you would like to join us on either one, just let us know in your response and we will get you signed up.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within two weeks, we will assume you are no longer interested in participating in the Ireland Project, and your badge will be removed. If you wish to reapply for membership later, we will be happy to have you back. Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Jen Hutton, on behalf of the Ireland Project

Hiya Jen,

I apologize that I didn't respond during the two week time frame, I thought I had previously responded but it doesn't show here. I would like to be on an active Ireland Projects team . Katrina

Hi Katrina,

When we didn't hear from you at check-in, we assumed you were no longer interested in participating in the Ireland Project. I would be happy to reissue a badge to you if you pm me privately to let me know what team(s) you would like to help out on, and your email address (so I can send you an invitation to the project's google group). Thanks for your interest,

Jen

Hello Gypsy,

I noticed that you used the Challenge Tracker to track a change during a recent Saturday Sourcing Sprint. Please consider officially joining us for the Saturday Sourcing Sprints. You can find information, including how to join, on the Sprints Help page.

No pressure, every profile with a source makes our WikiTree better. Your work will continue to be included in the Tracking Sheet's Unregistered total at the bottom of the help page if you do not register.

Your work is appreciated. Thanks for sourcing!

PS If the link does not work, you can find a working one in the public comment I left on your profile.

Hi Gypsy,

Congratulations on being Pre-1700 certified.

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many decendants, coordination is essential. Thanks for joining the IRELAND Project.

Hi Gypsy,

Thanks for taking responsibility for the Orphaned Profiles. This After Adopting Orphans FAQ explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

Let me know if you have any questions on how to find and record sources, merge duplicates, clean up GEDCOM biographies, and interpret the Suggestions report. I'm here to help!

Debi

PS If you have any GEDCOM cleanup to do, there is a new tool that can help. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Hi Katrina

How is it going so far, were the Member How-Tos pages helpful or did they leave you with questions?

Clicking your green tags shows members who follow that tag. Add tags other family surnames, for locations. The tags link you to the community sourcing & research options Information on tags is on page one of the How To pages.

We want to help you learn about the site and the community, hopefully you found the pages and links useful.

Questions click my name & ask in the comment box on my page or post in the G2G Forum (see Help top right of your Profile

Thank you for volunteering. You are now a full member of WikiTree.

Start with the New Member How-To Pages - they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around:

Let me know if you require assistance. I am happy to help. After adding my own family and ancestors I have found many cousins and distant ancestors here on WikiTree.
